Search for jobs; your
boating career awaits

Boating Careers is excited to announce that our first Industry Immersion Day for 2024 is just around the corner! On Thursday, 30th May, students will have the opportunity to explore the world of marine careers with a series of site visits across Williamstown’s leading marine businesses.

This year, we’ll be visiting a fantastic group of employers, including:

Royal Yacht Club of Victoria (RYCV)

Haines Hunter

Savages Wharf

Penfolds Marine

Plus a quick visit to the historic Seaworks Maritime Precinct

We would like to sincerely thank all the employers involved. Without industry support, programs like these simply wouldn’t be possible. It’s vital that we continue to engage with young people and raise awareness about the incredible career opportunities available across the boating and marine sector.

Building Stronger Career Pathways for Students

This year’s immersion event is proudly supported by the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay Local Learning and Employment Network (WynBay LLEN). WynBay LLEN plays a crucial role in connecting students, schools, and employers in the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay areas, working to improve education, training, and employment outcomes.

Through programs like structured workplace learning and work experience, WynBay LLEN helps students transition from school to the workforce. After students complete their immersion experience and initial placements, Head Start manages the next phase, facilitating school-based apprenticeships and traineeships to support long-term career development.

True Industry Collaboration

This program is a perfect example of how collaboration between Boating Careers, WynBay LLEN, Head Start, schools, and employers can successfully attract fresh talent into the marine industry. The aim is to build a future workforce for Victoria’s boating sector — one student at a time!
