Frequently asked questions

Everything teachers, students, and parents ask before booking.

What year levels is this suitable for?

Immersion Days are designed for Years 9–12, with most groups in Years 10 and 11. Younger groups (Year 8) can be accommodated by arrangement.

What's the minimum and maximum group size?

Most days work best with 15–30 students. We can support larger cohorts by splitting into rotation groups — just let us know on the form.

Is it really fully funded?

Yes. There's no cost to the school, students, or families. Transport, lunch, safety equipment, and supervision are all included.

Do students need any boating or industry experience?

None at all. The day is designed for students with no prior experience or technical knowledge. All activities are introductory and fully supervised.

What about insurance and risk assessments?

We provide a full risk assessment and a current certificate of insurance to your school in advance, formatted for DET requirements.

What should students wear?

Closed-toe shoes, long pants, and clothes you don't mind getting a bit dusty — workshops are working environments. We'll send a full pre-day pack once you're booked.

What if a workplace can't host on the day?

We always have backup partner businesses ready in each region. If a workplace becomes unavailable, we'll swap in another so the day still runs as planned.

Can parents attend?

Parent volunteers are welcome by arrangement with the school. We also send a parent information sheet ahead of the day.
