The Australian College of Pioneers (ACP) is the first RTO in Australia to develop and deliver the Certificate IV in Boating Services (MEM40222) – a nationally recognised qualification designed specifically for the marine industry. We combine classroom learning, practical workshop training, and structured Work-Based Training to produce graduates who are job-ready and highly valued by employers.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Trainer/Assessor to deliver the Certificate IV in Boating Services on the Gold Coast. This role involves working with both local and international students to develop their skills in fibreglass and composites, woodworking, aluminium welding, marine systems, and essential business skills for the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and compliant training in accordance with the MEM40222 – Certificate IV in Boating Services Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS)
Facilitate both theory and practical classes in a workshop and classroom setting
Assess student competence in line with ASQA Standards and training package requirements
Provide student support, mentoring, and constructive feedback
Liaise with industry partners to support work-based training placements
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with ACP’s compliance requirements
Skills & Experience:

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 with upgrade units) – or willing to obtain
Trade qualification or extensive industry experience in boat building, marine craft construction, composites/fiberglass, or related marine trades
Strong knowledge of MEM training package units, particularly those from Marine Craft Construction
Industry currency and hands-on skills in fiberglass repair, lay-up, woodworking, welding, and/or marine fitout
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to supporting student success and industry growth
