Position Summary
To assist with the daily operations and functions of the Waterfront Department as directed by the Waterfront Manager
Function of the Position
• Operating plant and equipment including: travel lift; forklift; workboat
• Ensure that all persons – employees, members, contractors and others comply with Club-operating procedures, with particular emphasis on Club OHS policies including inductions for all persons working in the yard area
• Keeping yard and marina well maintained and clean and tidy
• Attending to plant, equipment and building maintenance
• Utilise preventative maintenance procedures
• Promptly report and follow up any operational/equipment faults
• Liaise with members, contractors and fellow employees with regard to yard and marina activity as required
• Processing yard and marina requests in accordance with Club procedures
Operations
• Have strong product knowledge including:
o Yard offer e.g. boat slipping and storage option
• Be fully conversant with Club operating and OHS procedures as pertain to the yard and marina
• Be able to use email/ Microsoft office and other relevant computer systems (training will be provided as necessary)
General
• Maintain professional and respectful relations with all stakeholders (equally members, visitors and staff)
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety policies at all times
• Ensure compliance with club policies including those contained in the staff handbook
• Maintain a professional presentation and demeanour
• Wear protective clothing as instructed
Other Duties
In addition you will be required to carry out any other reasonable duties as requested from time to time
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm. Flexibility may be required during regattas and special events.
Working Conditions:
Physical Demands – this position requires a physically fit person to meet the demands that are associated with the Waterfront Department in order to work effectively. Licences – boat and vehicle driving licence, travel lift experience desirable and boat handling experience.
