Boating Careers was proud to exhibit at two major youth-focused expos this past week: the VET Discovery Expo in Broadmeadows and the Trade & Tech Fit Expo in Melbourne. These events connected thousands of students with real opportunities and fresh career pathways—many of which they hadn’t previously considered.
Boating Careers partnered with Keyba Careers to deliver an engaging, hands-on experience for students. A standout feature of the Tech & Trade Fit Expo was the stunning Haines Hunter 650R on display, generously brought in by Haines Hunter. The boat drew a crowd of curious and enthusiastic students, many of whom expressed strong interest in careers in boat building, marine trades, and the broader marine sector.
These expos play a critical role in showing young people that there are exciting, skilled, and well-paid trades beyond the traditional options. Many of the attendees had never considered marine careers before visiting the Boating Careers stand, and their reactions showed just how important this kind of visibility is.
A big thank you to the teams at Hume Whittlesea LLEN and Trade & Tech Fit for organising such impactful events, and to all the students, teachers, and employers who made these days a success.
Stay tuned—Boating Careers has more career expos and immersion days scheduled throughout the year as we continue to promote the marine industry as a career of choice.
