
The Department of Design and Finishing Trades fosters a progressive, supportive teaching environment with strong ties to the industry. We are seeking a passionate and skilled educator to teach the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology, with a particular emphasis on restoration projects for both interior and exterior applications. You will also contribute to the Certificate III in Upholstery.
As a teacher, you will:
- Deliver high-quality education and practical training, sharing your real-world expertise.
- Develop engaging course materials and innovative assessment tools tailored to marine and restoration-focused learning.
- Support diverse student needs with flexible teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental operations and ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment.
- Stay current with industry trends through professional development.
Help prepare students for rewarding careers in marine and automotive restoration (interior and exterior).
ABOUT YOU
Expertise:
- Proven experience in restoration and trimming for motor vehicles and marine vessels.
- Familiarity with contemporary techniques and tools in both interior and exterior restoration.
Teaching Skills:
- Innovative and adaptable teaching methods, incorporating ICT to enhance learning.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and VET sector practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with computer-aided production drawings (CAD).
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to design and deliver inclusive content that supports independent learning.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE 40122 (or equivalent).
- Relevant certifications or licences. A Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology is desirable
