Search for jobs; your
boating career awaits

Caleb Frost always held an interest in the marine industry and started working on boats at the age of 9. By the age of 12 Caleb held a boat licence and was racing boats as a member of the Victorian Outboard Club in the Formula Future class. Following in his father’s footsteps Caleb decided he wanted to become a marine technician and began his apprenticeship at the age of 15, working for his father’s business Wes Frost Marine in Mornington Victoria.

Caleb attended trade school at Chisholm Institute in Frankston where in 2013 he was awarded Apprentice of the Year for the Certificate III in Marine Mechanical Technology. Caleb excelled at school and finished his required trade school well before schedule.

In 2013 Caleb imported a Formula 1 race boat from Italy and set out to become the youngest driver in the world to race in the Formula 2 class. In his rookie year Caleb had great success with the boat, winning the Victorian Australian Power Boat Association 2700cc Super Sport class, was placed 2nd in the Victorian Outboard Club Championship and he was also very competitive in the Australian Championship series.

Caleb’s employment as a marine technician has seen him servicing, repairing and repowering vessels of all sizes including boats for the Victorian water police, Fisheries and Wildlife, Parks Victoria as well as attend to the vessels of the Victorian Life Saving Clubs around Port Philip Bay. Being a Marine technician has helped Caleb immensely with his boat racing, he is able to perform minor and major repairs to his own boat including full engine and gearbox rebuilds.
Caleb’s place of work Wes Frost Marine was lucky enough to be invited to the Mercury Marine 75th anniversary in the USA.

This opportunity allowed Caleb travel to the US for a factory tour of the Mercury plant, and attend the 75th anniversary seminar. Whilst in America Caleb had the chance to meet with many high profile boat racers from around the world. He also had the opportunity to see the latest in technology offered by Mercury Marine.
“Being involved in the marine industry has been a very rewarding experience for me. I have been lucky enough to travel to the USA and spent time with many marine personnel and companies from around the world,” said Caleb. “My goal in life is to follow my boat racing dream and hopefully one day become the F1 world champion. The opportunities that the marine industry has allowed are amazing and have fulfilled my high expectation every time.”
