Search for jobs; your
boating career awaits

After the incredible success of last year’s Boating Careers Industry Immersion Days, we are excited to announce that the program is back—bigger and better in 2025! In collaboration with various Victorian Local Learning and Employment Networks (VicLLENs) and Head Start, Boating Careers is set to offer students even more hands-on experiences and insights into our amazing industry.

This year, we are expanding our reach across Victoria, adding new locations and enhancing the immersion opportunities for students. Once again, we will be visiting Dandenong, Williamstown, and Geelong, with additional immersion days planned in Gippsland, Campbellfield, and Mornington. This expansion ensures that more students across the state can explore the diverse career pathways available in the boating and marine industry.

Key dates already locked in include:

  • Williamstown – May 30th
  • Geelong – August 29th
  • Gippsland – TBA
  • Camberfield – TBA
  • Mornington – TBA

Dates for the additional locations will be confirmed soon, so stay tuned for updates!

A Clear Pathway to Apprenticeships

The Boating Careers Industry Immersion Days are designed to provide a structured pathway for students into school-based apprenticeships and structured work experience opportunities. This three-step approach ensures students can seamlessly transition from exploration to employment:

  1. Immersion Days – These showcase the marine industry to students, providing hands-on experiences and connections with industry professionals.
  2. Work Experience through the School to Work (S2W) Program – Employers registered with VicLLENs offer structured work experience opportunities, giving students valuable industry exposure.
  3. School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs) – Once students and employers establish a connection, they have the opportunity to transition into an SBAT, supported by Head Start.

By following this structured approach, students gain a clear and supported pathway into a rewarding career in the marine industry.

If you’re an employer and would like to get involved in this fantastic initiative, please reach out to Dan at dan@biavic.com.au. Your participation can help shape the future of Victoria’s marine industry by inspiring the next generation of skilled professionals.

We can’t wait to make this year’s immersion days even more impactful and engaging—see you there!
