Overview:

Job Description:

The Marine Service Technician inspect, repair and monitor marine engines, electronics and internal boat systems.
The marine service technician will have industry certified qualifications, experience and a strong understanding of servicing inboard, outboard and sterndrive engines, boat accessory fitting, marine electronics, as well as problem diagnostics and offering solutions.

Full time permanent role (1 year probation period)

38 hours per week + overtime as required

Monday- Thursday 08:30-4:30pm Friday 08:00-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

Service, repair, maintain and upgrade marine inboard, outboard and stern marine engines and vessels for all brands and models.

Run diagnostics to identify root cause of failure + solution to resolve.

Assess scope of works for all jobs to support cost estimating and quotations.

Manage repairs, maintenance and or new fit outs requested applying technical expertise to deliver engine electrical or internal boat system works as per customer scope and marine safety and OEM requirements.

Follow and update job card scope of works, estimations / quotations and manages installation and repair works required by customer as needed.

Diagnose faults and provide resolutions to repair, maintain or fit upgrades across and any all inboard outboard stern engine vessels + general electrical or boat fitout needs.

OH&S understanding and ability to implement policies and procedures for any and all works conducted within the factory and office to comply and uphold best in class operations and maintain safety for all team members and on site contractors.

Parts management – Support stock take and general inventory management support required to record and support reordering and and special orders for custom parts and general consumables managed by the in house purchasing lead.

Record Management – Job cards Record, update and sign off all job cards to accurately represent works completed, scope of works, faults identified and parts replaced or updated per customer / vessel for accurate file management.

People management – Lead and support the team of apprentices by working with values and behaviours that showcase best in class technical application to job requirements while maintaining safety and respect to lead by example.

Problem solving and water testing vessels.

Maintain industry awareness and continuously improving processes and technology within the industry to maintain skills and latest training requirements within the marine industry.

Essential Skills/ Qualifications:

Marine technician qualifications

Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar position or same industry

Drivers licence

Boat licence

Forklift licence (Preferred)
