Job Description:

The Department of Design and Finishing Trades fosters a progressive, supportive teaching environment with strong ties to the industry. We are seeking a passionate and skilled educator to teach the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology, with a particular emphasis on restoration projects for both interior and exterior applications. You will also contribute to the Certificate III in Upholstery.

As a teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality education and practical training, sharing your real-world expertise.
• Develop engaging course materials and innovative assessment tools tailored to marine and restoration-focused learning.
• Support diverse student needs with flexible teaching strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental operations and ensure continuous improvement.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment.
• Stay current with industry trends through professional development.

Help prepare students for rewarding careers in marine and automotive restoration (interior and exterior).

ABOUT YOU

Expertise:

• Proven experience in restoration and trimming for motor vehicles and marine vessels.
• Familiarity with contemporary techniques and tools in both interior and exterior restoration.

Teaching Skills:

• Innovative and adaptable teaching methods, incorporating ICT to enhance learning.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and VET sector practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with computer-aided production drawings (CAD).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork abilities.
• Capacity to design and deliver inclusive content that supports independent learning.

Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE 40122 (or equivalent).
• Relevant certifications or licences. A Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology is desirable
